Authorisation
In order for ClearPort to send and receive messages from HMRCs systems on your behalf, you must complete the authorisation process on ClearPort.
Pre-requisites
You must have a GB or XI EORI number.
An Economic Operators Registration and Indentification (EORI) number is a reference number that uniquely identifies your organisation. You can apply for an EORI number whether your business is based in the UK or not. Apply here: https://www.gov.uk/eori/apply-for-eori
Government Gateway Id
You must have your Government Gateway Id that is related to the EORI number that you wish to use.
You receive this when you apply for an EORI number.

Authorising ClearPort
- Navigate to Settings > HMRC
- Click + New HMRC Authorisation
- Select the systems that you want ClearPort to be authorised to use and click Confirm
- You will be redirected to the HMRC website, where you should log in with your Government Gateway Id and follow the instructions. You will then be redirected back to ClearPort
