Safety and Security / ENS (Entry Summary Notification)

An ENS declaration is a safety and security declaration submitted to HMRC for goods arriving into the UK. ENS is required for all UK Imports from 1st October 2024 and is available through ClearPort. You can create standalone ENS declarations, or use existing imports to populate your ENS declarations straight from ClearPort ensuring a speedy and simple process with a minimal time requirement.

From 1st November 2024 a Safety and Security declaration is required for goods entering the UK from the EU.

Who should submit a safety and security declaration?

The Carrier of the goods is legally required submit the declaration, although it can be done by a third party on the carriers behalf.

I am a carrier based in the EU, can I submit safety and security declarations?

Yes. You will need to be registered with the UK Government and have a GB or XI EORI number. Get in touch with us and we can help you with the setup process.
