Submitting your First ICS2 Declaration

Learn how to submit your first ICS2 declaration.

Important please ensure you have the following information about the movement before continuing: Location of Loading and Unloading; Mode and identity of the transport; The relevant party details; Customs office of arrival; and expected date/time of arrival; The countries the goods pass through on their way to the destination country; Goods information, e.g. commodity code, description, gross mass, packaging.

Step 1 - Navigation

• Log into the ClearPort Dashboard.
• Navigate to ClearPort’s navigation menu. This can be found at the left of any page on ClearPort.
• Click on the dropdown button titled ‘ICS 2’.
• Then, click the ‘Declarations’ button.

Step 2 - Create

• Once you are on the ICS 2 Declarations page, click on the button titled ‘+ Create’.
• Add the declaration details.

Step 3 - Save Work

• Click 'Save' or 'Save and continue' editing regularly to ensure you don't lose your work due to network problems.

Step 4 - Submit

• Once saved and you are ready, click the 'Submit' button to send the declaration to HMRC.
• After a few minutes refresh the page, and you will receive a response which will be one of the following: Accepted, Rejected, or MRN Assigned.
